Basic personal data of the Vice-Ministres
Mr. HünerMr. Tomáš Hüner, born 26th June 1959 is married and has one daughter. He studied at the Faculty of Engineering, the Department of Thermal Machines and Nuclear Equipment at the Technical University in Brno. From 1984 to 1994 he worked at the power station Dětmarovice and by the end of his time there he held the position of assistant director for generation. From 1994 to 2002 he managed the company Severomoravská energetika, a.s., in the position of Chief Executive Officer and chairman of the Board of Directors. In 2002 he became a consultant for the company AP&P, which, amongst other things, carried out the restructuring of the joint—stock company Slovenské elektrárne. Since 2004 Tomáš Hüner has held the post of country manager of the company ČEZ in Bulgaria. From 14th September 2006 he has held the position of the Vice—Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and he manages the Section of Energy Sector.
Mr. TlapaMr. Martin Tlapa, born 28th September 1964 is married and has two sons. He completed his schooling at the College of Economics in Prague in 1984. He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague in 1989 and completed his MBA study in the Czech Technical University in Prague and the Hallam University in Sheffield in 2002. He began his career at the Institute of External Economic Relations in 1989, he worked for the Federal Ministry of Foreign Trade from 1991 to 1992. He had been the Trade and Economic Secretary of the Czech Embassy in Canada till 1996 and than was General Director of the CzechTrade agency till 2004. From 1st Juni 2004 he has held the position of the Vice—Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Mr. Martin Tlapa manages the Section of European Union.
Mr. VaněkMr. Luboš Vaněk, born on 25th March 1964 , is married and has two daughters and a son. In 1982 he passed the secondary school at Sokolov, in 1988 he graduated the Charles University in Prague. In the nineties he was active at the stock market in Banking and Investments Fund and since 1997 in a supervision body of the Ministry of Finance — The Securities Office and afterwards in the Securities Exchange Commission as the Head of Securities Traders and Brokers Office. He himself owns a broker license. In the years 1999 to 2002 he was active as the Director of the Chair Office at the National Property Fund. Since 2003 he worked as a Senior Director at the Czech Social Security Administration, responsible for processionary proceedings implementation concerning enterprises as well as for economic processes. On 1st February 2006 he was appointed to the function of Deputy of the General Director and since 1th August 2006 he was authorised with the management of the Czech Social Security Administration. Since 1th March 2007 he has held the position of the of the Vice—Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and he manages the Section of Subordinate Institutions and Agencies of the Ministry.
Mr. HovorkaMr. Milan Hovorka, born 15th January 1961 is married and has two children, a son and a daughter. In 1980 he completed his schooling at the College of Economics in Prague with specialisation in foreign trade. In 1984 he graduated from the Faculty of Trade at the University of Economics in Prague. Mr. Hovorka began his career at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Trade in 1984, he worked for the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic by UN and other International Organisations in Geneva from 1990 to 1996. He had been Director of the Multilateral Trade Policy and Relations with EU and EFTA Section at the Ministry of Industry and Trade from 1996 to 1998. In the period from 1998 to 2004 Mr. Hovorka worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Czech Permanent Mission in Geneva successively as Permanent Representative by WTO, Head of the Mission and a member of various elected WTO bodies. In 2004 he was named Director of the European and CIS Countries Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and from 1th September 2007 he has held the position of the Vice—Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Mr. Milan Hovorka manages the Section of Foreign Trade.
Mr. GeussMr. Erik Geuss, born 1st June, 1963 is married and has two daughters. He finished his schooling at the High School of Economics in Prague in 1982 and graduated in 1986 from the University of Economics in Prague, branch — Economics of Industry. From 1990 to 1993 he worked for Ministry of Environment in Department of Economics and Environmental Funds. From 1993 to 1996 and from 1999 to 2003 he was Executive Manager in consulting firm Aspekt, s.r.o., which prepared expert studies and analyses in the field of economics, energy industries and environment for enterprises and state administration. In 2004 he was Director of the Czech Ecological Institute. He returned to Ministry of Environment in 1997 — 1998 as Head of Department (1997) and Vice — Minister (1998). From 2005 to 2007 he was Adviser of Minister of Environment for Economic Affairs. From 1st November, 2007 he held the positon of Section Director for Strategy and Economics in Industry at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. 26th January, 2009 Mr. Geuss was appointed to the position of Vice—Minister of Industry and Trade.
Mr. PolákMr. Petr Polák, born 1st July 1972, passed the secondary school at České Budějovice in 1990 and he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University of Prague in 1995 where he also passed the LLD exam in 2006. From 1996 to 1998 he held the position of Director of Minister of Transport´s Cabinet and from 1999 to 2002 as Director of Prague´s Mayor Office. From 2002 to 2006 Mr. Polák held the position of Commercial Manager and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company D—PLUS projektová a inženýrská, a. s. He has been active at the Ministry of Industry and Trade from September 2006, initially as Director of Minister´s Cabinet and from 5th May 2009 he has held the position of Vice—Minister. Mr. Polák manages the Section of Interministerial Affairs and represents the Ministry in following bodies: The Government Council for the Affairs of the Roma Community, The Committee for the Rights of Foreigners, The Government Council for Human Rights, The Government Council for the Security of Road Traffic and in The Managing Committee of the Czech Railway Company.
