Commentary on industrial output and foreign trade results
Commentary on industrial output results:
"On the basis of the trend in orders from abroad and an acceleration in output growth in Germany and in the Eurozone as a whole, we can consider April’s industrial output figures as satisfactory. Since the bottom was hit in April and May 2009, when output fell to 2005 levels, it has been continuously rising,” said Vice—Minister of Industry and Trade for Strategy and Economics in Industry, Erik Geuss, adding: "Rising sales of Czech cars on the Chinese market are playing an important role in industrial output figures — the rise in April exceeded 30%. Sales also increased overseas and in Eastern Europe in that month.”
"The positive trend should continue through May and June in spite of the floods in the country,” concluded Vice—Minister of Industry and Trade for Strategy and Economics in Industry, Erik Geuss.
Commentary on foreign trade results:
"The optimism from the very decent year—on—year growth in exports was dampened by the fact that this indicator fell month—on—month. This is of course something that could have been expected in view of some lead indicators. I am also of course pleased by the above—average growth rate for exports to non—European countries, in particular China and Russia,” said Vice—Minister of Industry and Trade for Foreign Trade, Milan Hovorka.
